A really nice day for a hike with temperatures 70-77 degrees, mostly cloudy skies and frequent light breezes to keep us cool. We hiked ~ 6.9 miles, to the base of Ball Mtn., almost to Deep Gap. We avoided the steep climb up Justus Mtn. on the way to Cooper Gap which the larger hiking group last completed on March 13, 2018. At Justus Creek on our way back we met a member of the GA-AT Club and his wife. He helps maintain the AT and a few other trails in Georgia. Some late season wildflowers were seen today.
